MIST Games Calgary Postponed Until 2022
The goal of the MIST Games Calgary 2021 Organizing Committee has always been to deliver a world-class short track speed skating event, where masters skaters from around the world come together to compete, socialize and enjoy all that the host city has to offer.
Since the COVID 19 pandemic first surfaced, there have been countless travel restrictions, international border closures and strict limitations on all types of public gatherings and events. We are also seeing a freeze on local and federal government grants for sporting events, which would most certainly impact our event. We expect these restrictions to continue for the foreseeable future.
Ultimately, the health and safety of all participants, including those who would be traveling, the volunteers, officials, supporters and our local community are our highest priority.
For these reasons, the MIST Games Calgary 2021 Organizing Committee has voted unanimously to postpone the MIST Games to 2022. An announcement will follow with the venue and dates for the MIST Games 2022.
We thank you for your understanding and support while we all navigate through this unprecedented global health crisis.
